A LIVE WORKSHOP FOR BARIATRIC WOMEN WHO ARE GRIEVING
Your surgical team prepared you for protein goals, portion sizes and vitamins. Nobody sat you down and asked: what happens to your bariatric journey when your life falls apart?
A husband who dies. A marriage that ends. A job that disappears after twenty years. A parent whose decline rewrites your whole week. A diagnosis. An empty house.
And then, quietly, the weight comes back.
If that’s your story, hear this first. Grief is not a bariatric failure. You didn’t regain because you’re weak or lazy or broken. You regained because you got hit with one of the hardest things a human being goes through, and nobody gave you a way to carry it and your journey at the same time.
This workshop is that conversation. The one I wish someone had had with me years ago.
Why now?
Thanksgiving is nine days after this workshop.Â
For a woman carrying grief, the holidays are the hardest stretch of the year. The empty chair at the table. The food that was his favorite. The drive to someone else’s house. The quiet after everyone leaves. Every one of those moments is a fork in the road, and the old patterns know exactly where to find you.
You can walk into Thanksgiving week hoping to get through it. Or you can walk in with a plan you built in advance, on paper, for the exact moments you already know are coming.
That plan is what you’ll leave with.
What You'll Learn
In two hours, you’ll understand what grief has been doing to your journey, and what to do about it.
- The three kinds of grief on the bariatric journey, including the one nobody talks about: grieving the regain itself
- Why grief hits your bariatric journey harder than it hits the rest of your life (it has nothing to do with willpower)
- The four patterns of grief-driven regain, and which one has been driving yours
- How to protect the thread of your journey in a hard season without the all-or-nothing trap
- Your Anchor Moment: the one daily action that holds your identity in place when everything else is moving
- A written plan for Thanksgiving week: your three hardest moments, and what you’ll do when you see them coming
How it works
This is a workshop, not a webinar. Half teaching, half writing and discussion, because grief needs a voice.
You’ll get a workbook that follows the lesson, with space for short writing exercises and your Thanksgiving week plan. You’ll keep it.
Discussion is part of the night, and it’s always optional. You can keep your camera and microphone off the entire time and still get everything out of it. Nobody has to share. Nobody sees your workbook but you.
The room is small and it’s held carefully. We share headlines, not chapters. We don’t fix each other. And this is coaching, not therapy. I’ll help you understand what grief does to your habits and your identity, and I’ll be clear about when something needs more than that.
If you can’t make it live, the replay is yours for one week.

I’ve been on the bariatric journey for 24 years. I lost 101 pounds in six months after gastric bypass, and over the following years, 50 of them came back. I released that regain and have kept it off for more than eight years.
I’ve also lost. My mom passed away this year. She lived across the street from me for four years and I lost the whole shape of my week with her. Before that, I lost a twenty-year career in one conversation about a budget. I know what grief does to a bariatric journey because I’ve watched it happen to mine.
I’m the founder of WLS Delight and the Rightsize Lifestyle Academy, and I’ve coached hundreds of women through regain since 2020. I didn’t plan to teach this workshop. It found me, because over and over, when a woman tells me how her journey went sideways, the turning point wasn’t a food choice. It was a loss.
You don’t have to be done grieving to do this. You don’t have to be ready. You just have to show up, with your camera off if you need to, and let someone finally explain what’s been happening. The woman who does that is not a woman who has given up. She’s a woman who’s getting ready.
